So just how many different notes are there on the keyboard?

There’s actually only 12 different notes on the keyboard…which makes it fast and easy to learn your keyboard notes.

You’ll find that after counting past 12 notes the keyboard repeats  making it a simple pattern.

Although there’s 12 different notes, only 7 of them use the alphabet.

The easiest way to navigate the keyboard when you’re learning the notes is to use the two black keys as a reference point and you’ll find that there’s a C immediately to the left of them.

…Just as there’s an F immediately to the left of the three black keys.

…it’s then just a matter of filling in the gaps between those two keys

The black keys are called sharps and flats. To make a note sharp you simply move one key to the right of the note.  To make a note flat, you simply move one key to the left of the note.
